Maps & game modes

Bloons+ reference · updated 5 October 2026

Pick the target

Automation separates map, difficulty and variation. A route must exist and meet its restrictions. A map can be unlocked in BTD6 while its route is unavailable in Bloons+.

Restricted modes

Primary Only, Military Only and Magic Only restrict tower types. Half Cash changes income. Alternate Bloons Rounds changes threats and timing. Do not assume a CHIMPS recording meets these other rules.

Dynamic maps

Moving platforms and temporary covers can prevent a recorded placement or upgrade. Follow failure evidence and modify a route only with a legal position and strategy in mind.

Victory evidence

Reaching the last recorded action is not a victory. The game must display its win and save the mode medal. Defeats and interrupted games remain distinct outcomes.

Missing-medal sweep

  1. The sweep reads the active account's saved medals and selects a missing map/mode pair with an eligible route.
  2. Owned medals are skipped, including when a route changes or the app restarts.
  3. After a victory, Bloons+ waits for the medal to appear in the save before counting a clear.
  4. A failed candidate is recorded. Other eligible candidates and missing medals can continue.
  5. The sweep ends when the current queue has no eligible untried targets. Check the remaining-medal count: an exhausted queue does not mean every map is complete.

Use Stop after replay for an orderly pause or update. It lets the current game finish before ending the sweep. A healthy game should not be interrupted just to install a patch.

Why a target is skipped

Medal already earned
The saved profile confirms this mode is complete. No replay is needed.
Missing tower, hero or upgrade
The selected route's requirements are not available on this account. Choose another candidate or unlock the required items in BTD6.
Prerequisite mode locked
The required earlier mode must be completed first. Map ownership and mode access are separate checks.
No eligible untried route
There may be no supported candidate, or the available candidates already failed under the current route/engine version. Failure records survive sweep restarts; restarting does not erase them.
Saved medal unreadable
An unknown value is not treated as an earned or missing medal. That target is skipped while other readable modes can proceed. If the entire profile is unavailable, the sweep waits without starting a game.

Open Run logs for the exact map, mode and reason. See Diagnostics & reports for collecting a redacted report.

Route confidence

A legal recording is not a guaranteed win. Offline checks find malformed commands, forbidden tower classes and illegal upgrade paths. They cannot prove that placements cover the track or that a defense survives every round.

Converted and guide-derived plans can differ from the original strategy in timing, input behavior or placement. An online guide's success is source evidence; a confirmed local clear requires this run's victory and saved medal. Original CHIMPS recordings are preserved while engine fixes are made.

New candidates are inspected offline. Gameplay attempts exist to earn missing medals, not to benchmark already completed modes. Developers can read the medal-only development workflow.
